How the valley decides
A dragon has never once been assigned by rank. It inspects the candidate, decides, and moves on — and a dragon that dislikes what it finds simply walks away. These are the two things it is judging.
The seven colours
| Colour | How it reads a candidate |
|---|---|
| Black Dragon | Legendary ·You do not out-think the room. You were already three moves ahead of it. |
| Blue Dragon | You do not ask for permission. You take the hill and then hold it. |
| Red Dragon | You feel all of it at full volume. That is exactly why you are dangerous. |
| Green Dragon | You win the fight before it starts, because you already read the whole board. |
| Brown Dragon | You do not flinch. Not for show — you simply do not. |
| Orange Dragon | Nobody knows what you will do next. Including you. That is the weapon. |
| Gold Dragon | Rare ·You break the rules — but only ever for someone else’s sake. |
The six tail types
| Tail | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Morningstartail | The rarest tail in the valley — blunt force and eviscerating spikes in the same weapon. |
| Daggertail | Fast, precise, and over before the other side has finished moving. |
| Swordtail | Long razor edges, wielded with the precision of a blade. |
| Clubtail | Blunt, heavy, and completely uninterested in finesse. |
| Scorpiontail | Venomous barbs and patience — the strike arrives long after you relaxed. |
| Feathertail | The unweaponised tail of a dragon that has not grown into its teeth yet. |
